SANTA BARBARA, PHILIPPINES, a town of Iloilo province, island of Panay, Philippine Islands, on the S.E. coast, on the Jalaur river, a few miles N. of Iloilo, the capital of the province. Pop. (1903), after the annexation of Zarragk, Lucena, Pavfa and Leganes, 1zz 7,621; subsequently Pavla (pop. in 1903, S7) was annexed to Jaro. There are 87 barrios or villages in the town, only three of these had a population in 1903 exceeding 1000. The language is Visayan. The principal industries are the cultivation of sugar cane, Indian corn, rice, cacao, coco-nut palm and tobacco, and the raising of cattle.
