Catalogue
CATALOGUE (a Fr. adaptation of the Gr., a register, from , to enrol or pick out), a list or enumeration, generally in alphabetical order, of persons, things, etc., and particularly of the contents of a museum or library. A catalogue raisonnée is such a list classified according to subjects or on some other basis, with short explanations and notes. (See also articles Bibliography and Bibliology, and Libraries.)
